Koto Midnight was not a deliberate design. It was one of 22 tracks generated in the first days of the station. Listeners heard them all and voted. This one held.
The title came from what it sounded like at 3am: a Japanese instrument in an empty room, something outside. No beat. No resolution. Just the sound of a night that is not quite over.
It was the first track to reach the rotation, and it has stayed there.
